Christopher E. Hurt

Christopher E. Hurt, 48, of Eubank, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.

He was born on October 1, 1970; son of Norman Eugene Hurt and the late Judy Godbey Hurt. He was a substitute teacher for the Pulaski Co. School System. Chris enjoyed announcing for basketball games at Pulaski Co. High School. An avid movie buff, he loved quoting movie references, and going to the 27 Twin Drive-In. He enjoyed helping at church functions and being able to help in the community, especially when Gerald's Auto Parts offered vehicle services to needy families. The only time Chris was ever early was when he was born. He loved to argue politics, enjoyed guns, and was an old car enthusiast. Chris was also an advocate for the disabled; while at EKU, he advocated strongly for the college to move parking curbs and to make areas more handicapped accessible. His favorite companion was his cat Buddy.

He is survived by his father, Norman Eugene Hurt; his siblings, Anita & (Steve) Caron of Science Hill, Amy & (Zyndall) Haste of Somerset, William & (Mitzi) Hurt of Stanford, and Scott & (Christi) Hurt of Lexington; nieces and nephews, Stephanie & (Justin) Gillis, Jonathan & (Sydney) Caron, Darin & (Emilee) Haste, Allison Haste, Matthew & (Bridget) Hurt, Ameila Hurt, Lauren Hurt, and Daniel Hurt.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Godbey Hurt; and a nephew, Mark Haste.

A funeral service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Hughes officiating.

The family will receive friends after 4 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home until time for services.
