Charles E. Meade

Charles E. Meade, 92, of Brodhead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022.

Charles was born January 3, 1930, in Parlor Grove, Kentucky, son of the late John Henry and Norma Ruth (Calhoun) Meade. He was the proprietor of a construction company and was a United States Marine veteran. Charles enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, socializing, storytelling, singing and playing his guitar and fiddle. For many years, he was an active member of the Goochtown Church of Christ in Eubank.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Joe (Calhoun) Meade, to whom he was married on May 6, 2012, his children, Marlana (Glenn) Mitchell of Frankfort, and Mary Lee (Chris) Craig, of Brodhead, sisters Wilma Christine Rowlett, Alma Francis Bruner, Thelma Yvonne Pruitt, and his grandchildren, Molly Elizabeth Craig and Keaton Patrick Craig, both of Brodhead.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Faye (Todd) Meade, to whom he was married on October 20, 1953 until her passing on November 28, 2008; a brother, James Edward Meade, and two siblings who passed away in infancy, Roger Lee and Linda Sue Meade.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Robby Cable officiating.

Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
