Charles R. Cooper, 92, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021.

He was born August 21, 1928 in Whitley City, KY; son of the late Luther and Irene Godby Cooper. He was a barber and Truck Driver. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. Charles received the following while in the service; a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry, United Nations Service Medal, Korea Service Medal W-3 Bronze Camp Stars, One of twenty one that came off of HeartBreak Ridge.

He is survived by one brother, Doyle & (Mathel) Cooper of Lancaster; three sisters, Mary Lou Arnold of Charlotte, NC; Janette & (Robert) Messer of Greenfield, IN; Janice Cooper of Indianapolis, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carl, Clyde, Luther "Boonie" and Herbert Cooper; two sisters, Wilma Fisher and Ilene Cooper.

A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Messer officiating.

Burial in Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 12:00 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38.
