Cathy Lee Hughes

Cathy Lee Neal Hughes born September 16, 1958 in Oneida, Tn to the late William Rosevell Neal and Peggy Simpson Neal, ascended to her heavenly home on February 20, 2026 in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was a beautician, business owner and caregiver for many over the years. Those that had the opportunity to know her were blessed by her presence. In addition to her parents, Cathy is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Hughes, who she married on December 6, 1985 in Eubank, Kentucky and her daughter Peggy Marie Hughes.

She is survived by her son, William "Billy" Hughes and his wife Ashley of Stanford, Kentucky and three precious grandchildren, Khloe, Izabella, and Wyatt. She is also survived by her two sisters, Debbie Wesley of Liberty, Kentucky and Elizabeth & (Patrick) Eichmann of Nancy. Also mourning her passing is a host of nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

Those who had the opportunity to know Cathy were blessed to meet a soul with a deep love of people and a desire to help those in need. It is with peace her family and friends know she is rejoicing in heaven with her loved ones and her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church where she served as treasurer.

The family will celebrate her life with service on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 3 PM at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Williams and Bro. Eric Vaught officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 12 PM Sunday, March 1, 2026 until time for services.
