Carl C. Cooper, Jr. "Boonie"

Carl C. Cooper, Jr., "Boonie", 70, of Somerset, Kentucky, son of Lois New Cooper and the late Carl Cooper, Sr., passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on February 16, 1948, son of Lois Jane New Cooper and the late Carl C. Cooper, Sr. He was retired and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Jane New Cooper, two sons, Timothy Carl Cooper and Rodney Wayne Cooper, three daughters, Tina Cooper Excellent, Tamara Cooper Rison and Tresa Cooper Crask, one brother, David & (Darlene) Cooper, nephew, Craig Cooper, great-niece, Kayla, great-nephew, Josh, ten grandchildren, Ashley Cooper, Stephanie King, Kelsie Baker, Misty King, Gene Rison, Lindsey Crask, Jacob Crask, Veronica Soares, Ashton Cooper, and Jaime Excellent and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Cooper, Sr., one brother, Gary Wayne Cooper and one sister, Brenda Irene Cooper. He was the grandson of the late Rev. Silas and Alpha New and Luther and Irene Cooper.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Owens officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
