Buford Eugene Bryant, 86, of Science Hill, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born in Harrogate, Tennessee on May 17, 1932; son of the late Jim Bryant and Maggie Lingar Boone. He was a General Forman for Bristol Compressors in Bristol, Virginia. He attended Cannan Baptist Church.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sherry Lynne Chaney of Louisville, and Dorothy Ann Benford of Alabama; three sons, Jeffrey Eugene Bryant, Gary Lee Ward and William Wilson Ward all of Science Hill; one sister, Sally Bryant of Gibson Station, VA; two brothers, James Bryant of Fort Wayne, IN, and Bill Bryant of Gibson Station, VA; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Harris Bryant who passed away on March 15, 2015; his parents; three brothers, Bill Bryant, Hubert Bryant, and Herbet Bryant; four sisters, Bonnie, Joy, Mary Lou, and Rachael; one grandson, Caleb Bryant; and one great-grand-daughter, Madison Hannah.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2019 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ferlin Price officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 11:00 AM Friday, May 3, 2019 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home until time for services.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
