Brenda G. Burdine Hibbard-Howard, 70, of Somerset, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
She was born in Public, Kentucky on June 8, 1951; daughter of the late Jesse Everett and Ruby Ella Price Burdine. She retired from Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in 2004. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a compassionate person, who never had a harsh word to say about anyone. She enjoyed canning, gardening, and planting flowers each year. She enjoyed traveling, taking family vacations, shopping, going to Goodwill’s, and baby sitting her four legged grandchild Silas James.
She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, but attended Newell Christian Fellowship.
She is survived by her children, Sheila & (Frank) Smith, and J. Tyler Hibbard & (Johnnie Boston); a daughter-in-law, Trisha Hibbard; grandchildren, Stephanie & (Robert) Reynolds, Cody Frank Smith, and Logan Aaron Hibbard; great-granddaughters, Emery Reynolds and Madison Reynolds; sisters, Sue Janet Moore, Judith & (Everett) Poynter, and Linda & (Hershel) VanHook; a brother-in-law, Bobby & (Pam) Hibbard; special niece and nephews, Sheila & (Ted) Arthur and Greg & (Amy) Hibbard, Eric Campbell, and Randall & (Jackie) Campbell, and Wayne & (Pam) Mason; special friends, Patricia Haste, Megan Davis, and Joyce Mounce; a four legged son, Jacob Howard; four legged grandchildren, Phil J, and Silas James; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Dale Hibbard, whom she married on August 28, 1967, and who passed on June 7, 2014; a son, Timothy Dale Hibbard; her second husband, Dr. Buford Howard whom she married on June 29, 2019 and who passed on April 4, 2020; her parents, Jesse Everett and Ruby Ella Price Burdine; a brother-in-law, Dean Hibbard & (Cholrene), and a sisters-in-law, Shirley & (Harold) Mason, and Arlene Hibbard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Hibbard Cemetery Fund, Hospice of Lake Cumberland, or the American Cancer Society.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Cole officiating.
Burial will be in Hibbard Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Monday, April 18, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
