DALTON, Boyce J., age 88, of Burnside, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 in Dayton, Ohio.

Boyce was born in Trimble, Kentucky on June 25, 1930, the son of the late John Kelly Dalton and Nancy “Nannie” Sallie Clifton and brother to 13 siblings.   He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  Boyce was known for his sharp wit and amazing ability to brighten others’ lives with his sense of humor and charm that quickly made strangers into friends.

At the age of 13, Boyce confessed his faith in the Lord. He was a member of Far Hills Baptist Church in Centerville, OH and most recently a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Kidder, KY.   At the age of 18, Boyce married Christine Alice Flynn on November 20, 1948.   In 1952, Boyce and Christine moved to Dayton, Ohio where they raised their family.  Boyce worked at Monarch Marking Systems as a foreman, retiring in 1981.  He was ambitious and took pleasure in learning, completing his GED and working toward an Associate’s Degree in management at Sinclair Community College.   He attained the level of 33 Degree Freemason as a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dayton and was a Shriner.  Boyce enjoyed watching baseball and western movies, gardening, carpentry, repairing mechanical devices, and solving puzzles.  He looked forward to family celebrations, visiting with friends, and playing cards.   He especially loved being with his kids and his grand and great-grandchildren.

Boyce is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Tim) Ringler of Springboro, OH; Rilla (Greg) Liles of Sandy, UT; and one son, Kelly Dalton of Centerville, OH. He is also survived by one grandson, Jason (Adriane) Ringler of Louisville, KY; four granddaughters, Lisa (Kenneth) Rathburn of New Albany, OH; Michelle (Christopher) Liles of Sandy, UT; Amanda Liles of Bloomington, IN; and Krista Liles of Fort Collins, CO; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Rathburn; three great-grandsons, Aiden Ringler, Owen and Elliot Rathburn; and a host of extended family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Christine; his parents; ten brothers, Albert, Milford, Emery, Everett, Obie, Earl, Merl, Lonnie, Roy, and Dinzle; and three sisters, Veneda, Iva, and Vinnie.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home located in Science Hill, KY.   Pastor Ron Dalton will be officiating. 

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Nancy, KY.

Visitation for Boyce J. Dalton will be 6:00-9:00 PM, Sunday, July, 8, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, KY.

Memorial contributions may be made in Boyce’s name to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in lieu of flowers.
