In Loving Memory of Bobby Lewis Cress

A Treasured Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Beloved son of the late Estill and Susie (Glass) Cress.

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Bobby Lewis Cress, age 85, who passed away peacefully on the morning of October 21, 2026, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving attentive wife, Linda Carolyn Cress and his adoring children Tony (Amy) Cress, Donna (Scott) Caudill, Tracy Cress, and Brandon (Jim Florence) Cress, in the home they built together.

Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, and hardworking man whose life was defined by his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his never-ending sense of humor. He had a special gift for making people laugh, even in the hardest of times, and his presence brought comfort and strength, to those around him. Above all else, was his deepest, unwavering love and devotion to his wife Carolyn of 61 years, and his greatest pride and joy were his children. Which was a beautiful testament to a lifetime of love and commitment.

Bob proudly served his Country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army and served in the National Guard. He later worked for Hinkle Contracting, carrying the same dedication and hard work into his career that he brought to every part of his life.

His heart was happiest on the farm, surrounded by the peaceful woods, where he loved spending his time with his faithful dog, Checks. The farm was a place where he could enjoy the simple things in life and be close to the land he loved.

He leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren; Blaine Manning, Christian Manning, Skyler (Josi) Caudill, Madison (Luke) Wilburn, Sawyer Cress, and Reagan Cress; And precious great grandchildren: Oaklyn Wilburn, Maevery Wilburn, Gemma Wilburn, and Cade Caudill.

He is survived by his brothers, Charles (late Geraldine) Cress, Verlan (late Reva) Cress, Earlin Dude (Alaine) Cress, Linton (Connie) Cress, Johnny (Wanda) Cress, and his chosen brother, Donnie Ray Glass; His Sisters, Marslene (late Janice) Littrell, Charolette Cress, and Linda Cress.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Odell (Marie) Cress, Olen (Alma) Cress, Leles Cress, Daris (Linda) Cress, and Shannon Cress; and his sisters, Velda (Gary) Combs, and Shirley (Lewis) Johnson.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form in donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
