Betty Jo Gibson

Betty Jo Gibson, 90, of Eubank, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born April 8, 1936 in Bent, Kentucky to Mary Matilda (Phelps) Mize and Robert Freeman Mize. Betty Jo was a longtime and faithful member of Eubank Baptist Church. She was blessed with a beautiful soul and a strength that carried her through life's many seasons. With love, resilience, and unwavering devotion, she raised six children, instilling in them the strong work ethic and values that continue to live on through her family. Betty Jo diligently worked for many years at Vaught Brothers in Eubank before retiring. Above all, she cherished her family and found her greatest joy in the love they shared.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delmas bullock; her late husband, Willie Gibson; her son, Dallas Bullock; her sisters, Bessie Cross, Juanita Jones, Beulah Tarter, Louella Cundiff, Zella Smith, and Evelyn Wesley; and three brothers, Leonard Mize, Howard Mize, and William Mize.

She is survived by her children, JoAnn & (David) York of Eubank, Bennie & (Mellissa) Bullock of Eubank, Robert & (Delana) Bullock of Crab Orchard, Diane Perkins & (Kevin Montgomery) of Stanford, and Bonnie & (Dewey) Spears of Eubank.

She was honored by her grandchildren, Dustin & (Chrystal) York, Dedra York, Jessi & (Travis) Durham, Sabrina Russell, Samantha Corner, Shane & (Cindy) York, Elijah Bullock, Brandon Bullock, Scottie & (Amanda) Stephens, Chad Stephens, Haley & (Isaiah) VanArsdall, Troy Gowins, and Dakotah Spears; as well as 24 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Dustin York, Bro. Scottie Stephens, and Bro. Travis Durham officiating.

Pallbearers will be Bennie Bullock, Dakotah Spears, Devon York, Austin York, Elijah Bullock, Chad Alexander Stephens, Jamisen Stephens, and Troy Gowins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bullock, David York, Dewey Spears, Kevin Montgomery, Chad Stephens, and Emma Stephens.

Burial will be at Etna Cemtery in Eubank, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time for services at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
