Beckey Smith

Beckey Marie Godbey Smith, age 54, of Eubank, Kentucky passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, May 22, 2025. She was born on December 26, 1970, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Michael and Doris (Rednour) Godbey.

Beckey had a deep love for nature and found joy in gardening, tending to her flowers, bird watching, and raising chickens. A dedicated member of Trinity Fellowship Church, she faithfully served in various roles, including teaching children's church, crafting, decorating, and singing in the choir. Her greatest passion was working with the youth, a calling she embraced for many years with compassion and devotion.

She retired from Windstream in 2024 after a fulfilling career, but her heart was always with her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her loved ones, especially her two cherished grandchildren.

Beckey is survived by her loving husband, James Smith, whom she married on September 13, 2003; her parents, Michael and Doris (Rednour) Godbey; her son, William (Kayla) Harris; her daughter, Kaitlyn Smith; two grandchildren, Liam James and Elena Rose; her sister, Dana (Scott) Hansford; a nephew, Victor; like-a-son, Oscar Nevels; like-a-daughter, Victoria Nevels; paternal grandmother, Mathel Jenkins; a special aunt, Ada Smith; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Norma Smith; and a host of other family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by a special aunt, Maggie Faye Goff; and grandfather, Smith Jenkins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Eric Barnes officiating.

Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 5-8 PM.
