Barbara Allen Hodge

Barbara "Barb" Allen Sweet Hodge, age 69, passed away Sunday, March 1st, 2026 at 8:40 AM born February 11th, 1957 to the late Vert and Stella Sweet.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Jonas "Joney" Hodge, whom she married June 27th, 1974. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Stella and Vert Sweet; one sister, Wilmath Pike; and three brothers, Ira, Russell, and Robin Sweet, who died in infancy.

She is survived by her son, Jamey Hodge & (fiancee Sandy Skaggs); one sister, Connie Reynolds; three brothers, George, Earl, and Hobert Sweet; and a bunch of nieces and nephews.

She loved her flowers and growing a garden, her dogs Duchess, Ginger, Midget, Rocky, Ben, and Toby. She loved fishing and picking wild greens, sight seeing, writing, reading, John Wayne, Elvis, Conway Twitty, and others. She was a homemaker. She loved her family and friends and her dogs and all animals.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Clay Herd officiating.

Burial will follow at Jacob's Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 AM until time for services.

Pallbearers will be Earl Hodge, Riley Hodge, Devin Hodge, Travis Pullum, Joseph Pullum, and Tyler Coleman. Honorary pallbearers are all of Barbara's nieces and nephews.
