Arnold Eugene Simpson

Arnold Eugene Simpson, 93, of Bee Spring, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at his residence.

He was born November 6, 1929 in West Somerset; son of the late Sam & Sara (Bray) Simpson. He worked for Parkland Furniture and was of the Baptist Faith. Arnold loved woodworking, reading, singing, pictures, telling stories of his childhood, & watching westerns.

He is survived by a son, David Simpson; a daughter, Margaret & (David) Hammond; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Simpson; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, Teri & Jennifer.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first love, Louise Marie (Brown) Simpson, whom he married on October 29, 1949 until her passing on October 8, 1989; his second wife, Mary (West) Simpson, whom he married on February 6, 1994 until her passing on July 18, 2015; two sons, Darrell & Danny Simpson; siblings, Lue Hewitt, Ruth New, Dee Murray, Carolyn Thompson, Orville Simpson, Arlie Simpson, Ernie Simpson, & Shirley Simpson; daughters-in-law, Sonja & Delia Simpson; one grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating.

Burial will be in Elk Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Friday, September 1, 2023, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
