Alma Jane Pitman, 81, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on November 1, 1937 in Rockcastle Co., Kentucky; daughter of the late Ernest and Edna Vivian Marlor Poynter. She was an excellent seamstress, who lived and breathed to sew. She was a very special and Godly woman who attended Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ and was a rock to her entire family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Glen Edward Pitman whom she married on November 14, 1955; a daughter, Dianna & (Wayne) Gillilan of Science Hill; a brother, Larry Poynter of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Misty and Travis Gillilan, six great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lester Poynter; and a sister, Wanda McKinney.
Private services will be held.
