Alene Burkett

Alene Trimble Burkett, 96, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Bluegrass Senior Living facility.

She was born on July 27, 1929 in Norfleet, Kentucky to the late Veston & Pearl (Buchanan) Trimble. Alene found great joy in tending to her flowers and took pride in the beauty she created in her garden. A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Somerset, she cherished her faith and the fellowship it brought. She dedicated her life to her home and family as a loving homemaker.

She is survived by her sisters, Irene Jasper of Ohio, Elizabeth Norfleet of Nancy, KY, and Marie & (Lowell) Tarter of Lexington; sisters-in-law, Linda Burkett of Virginia, Myrtle Burkett of Somerset, KY, and Kara Burkett of Sevierville, TN; a great-granddaughter, Alyisa Marie Aycock of Somerset, KY; a special niece, Janice Palmer; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Leonard E. Burkett; a son, Jeffrey G. Burkett; two brothers, Winfred Trimble and Weldon Trimble; two sisters, Bernice & (Ernie) Maples and Daphene Simpson; a sister-in-law, Mary Lois Trimble; and a special friend, James Ragle.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time for services.
