Carter Koger, Sr.

Mr. Carter Koger, Sr., 90, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Somerwoods Nursing & Rehab after an extended illness. He was born on February 22, 1927 in Parmlessville, Kentucky in Wayne County, Kentucky. He was a graduate of the University of KY and the University College of Pharmacy in Lexington. He worked as a Pharmacist for 60 years in Pulaski County. Carter loved fishing with his son, Carter, Jr., brother-in-law, Doc Rose and nephew, Danny Rose. Carter was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Juanita, daughter, Donna Withers, brother, Kenneth Koger and sisters, Kathleen Paul and Imogene Raggio. He is survived by his son, Carter Koger, Jr., daughter, Kathy Koger Popplewell and special nephew, Danny Rose and grandchildren, Caroline Koger, Jessica Popplewell, Jared Popplewell, Bill Withers, Brian Withers and Deanna Withers. Visitation will be after 10 AM Friday, September 15, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Corbin, KY. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
