Mayor Frey Todd, 82, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on October 15, 1934, son of the late Herbert and Bessie Vanover Todd. Frey served as mayor of Eubank for four decades, being the only mayor ever to be elected to that office. He has been the driving force behind the growth and development of the City of Eubank. His passion was improving the community in any way possible. His "paying" job was with Investors Heritage Insurance Company. He formed many lifelong friendships through that association.
Frey was a member of the Eubank Church of Christ and a member of the Eubank Ruritan Club. He was on the Board of Directors at Cumberland Security Bank. In his younger days, he was a volunteer firefighter.
He was married to Ann Hines Todd for almost 47 years. Their union was blessed with two children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Frey's daughter is Mitzi Todd Denney of Eubank. His grandsons are Brian Denney & (Miranda) and Todd Denney & (Audrey). Todd has four children, Frey's great-grandchilren: Annika, Asher, Addie and Andy.
Frey's son is Michael Frey Todd & (Debbie) of Somerset. His granddaughters are Annalynn, Keirstyn, Hayley and Kamdyn.
He is also survived by one brother, Herbert Keith Todd and his stepmother, Leona Todd Bentley.
Frey developed a special friendship with the Barron family. They have treated him like family and will miss him dearly. He leaves behind many other family and friends who will mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Hines Todd, whom he married on April 18, 1954 and who died on January 22, 2001, his mother, Bessie Todd, his father, Herbert Todd, sister, Rosetta Rouse, brothers, Boyd Todd and Timothy Earl Todd, as well as a sister who died in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ferlin Price officiating and Bro. Dale Robins.
Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Eubank City Park or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
