Linda Burkett Denney

Linda Burkett Denney, 65, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on September 6, 1951, daughter of the late William Howard and Ethel Roy Burkett. She retired as a secretary from Cooper Power Plant and also worked at First & Farmers Bank. She was a member of East Somerset Baptist Church and a 1969 graduate of Eubank High School. Linda enjoyed the Somernites Cruise, gardening, cooking and especially playing with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Hunter Denney, one son, Marty & (Andrea) Taylor, one daughter, Sherri Taylor Davis, step son, Jason Denney, all of Somerset, two sisters, Pearlie Jones & (W.N.), of Somerset and Sue Singleton of Eubank, five grandchildren, Kailyn Hertzog & (Matt Haste), Myah Davis, Zach Davis, Sammy Davis and Jude Davis and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Billy Burkett, Jim Burkett and Robert Burkett, one sister, Jo Ann Hunley, sisters-in-law, Sue Burkett and Ina Burkett, brothers-in-law, Lowell Hunley and Clyde Singleton and two infant sisters. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Darvie Fenison officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or East Somerset Baptist Church Building Fund. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
