Joshua Lowell Oakes

Joshua Lowell Oakes, 37, of Science Hill, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on February 16, 1980, son of Dorman Oakes and Patricia Ann Keith. He was an employee for Graham Packaging and he served in the U.S. Navy as an Avionics Technician. He is survived by his wife, Alisha Oakes, his parents, Dorman Oakes of Columbia, KY and Patricia Keith of Science Hill, two daughters, Jazmyn MacKenzie Oakes and Savanah Breann Oakes, both of Somerset, a brother, Andrew & (Cara) Oakes of Science Hill, a nephew, Landon Scott Oakes, two nieces, Kathryn Bailee-Mae Oakes and Ellen Kait Oakes. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday, February 20, 2017 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Ramsey and Bro. Travis Durham officiating. Burial in Buncombe Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 AM on Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
