Robert Taylor Roberts, 76, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017. He was born in Wheeldon, Kentucky on August 16, 1940, son of the late Elmer Lee and Ruby Frances Godby Roberts. He was a letter carrier for the United States Post Office and a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Sue Carolyn Taylor Roberts of Lexington, four daughters, Susan Arleen & (Russell) Johnston of Columbus, OH, Mary Lou & (Mark) Matteola of Lexington, Elizabeth Ann & (Rodney) Floyd of Eubank and Roberta Jean Douglas & (George) of Stanford, KY, four brothers, Darrell Roberts of Michigan, W.C. Roberts of Berea, KY, James Roberts and Michael Roberts, both of Somerset, three sisters, Nancy Butte, Jackie Rose and Vickie Gleason, all of Somerset, eight grandchildren, Travis Dygart, Zack Dygart, Matthew Matteola, Morgan Matteola, Josh & (Alecia) Floyd, Brandon Floyd, Samuel & (Gloria) Douglas and Eugene Subastian Douglas, two half sisters, Janet and Patti, three great-grandchildren and seven special extended grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Leroy Roberts, Johnny Roberts and David Roberts. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 23, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte officiating and military honors by American Legion Post #38. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 AM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
