Doris Anita Acton

Doris Anita Irvin Acton, 81, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford after a long illness. She was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on October 25, 1935, daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Turner Irvin. She was a homemaker and attended New Hope Church in Crab Orchard. She was a great mom and loved her family. She loved to garden, make quilts and all kinds of needle work. She is survived by her husband, Isaac Acton, whom she married at Stanford, KY on January 29, 1955, one son, John & (Sherry) Acton, sister-in-law, Mable Irvin, all of Crab Orchard and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Rhonda Carol Acton, five brothres, Homer, Bill, Joe, Elzie "Bud" and Leonard Irvin and four sisters, Vernice Yantz, Velma Reynolds, Elsie Hendrickson and Lillian Irvin. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, January 13, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
