Freddie Leigh, Jr., 81, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016.
He was born in Gilpin, Kentucky on August 23, 1935, son of the late Lucy Roberts Leigh and Freddie Leigh, Sr. He was a farmer and woodworker. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Mark & (Angela) Leigh of Eubank, two daughters, Gail & (Mike) Gooch of Science Hill and Vickie Carter Begley of Eubank, two brothers, Ralph Leigh of Casey County and Carlos Leigh of Waynesburg, two sisters, Geneva Carmen of Kings Mountain and Mable Irvin of Broughtontown, five grandchildren, Miranda Curry, Chad Leigh, Andrew Leigh, Makayla Gooch and Makenzie Gooch, two step grandchildren, Michelle Begley Barnett and Ashley Gooch, three great-grandchildren, Holden, Max and Luke Curry and four step great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Gabriel and Makenna Patton and Damian Barnett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Faye Carter Leigh, who died on April 8, 2000, his parents, two brothers, Huel Leigh and Clay Leigh, three sisters, Geretha Leigh, May Phipps and Josephine Phipps, two half brothers, Charles Hines and Bidwell Hines and step grandson, Tommy Gooch.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gordy Prather officiating.
Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery with Military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland Crisis Team.
