George Carlos "Corn" Hodge, 70, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at his daughters home in Crab Orchard.
He was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on December 17, 1946, son of the late Charlie Lawrence and Birdi Kidd Hodge. He was a farmer and liked talking with friends. He loved his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who always enjoyed spending time with him on the farm.
He is survived by his companion, Mary Angel of Waynesburg, four children, Tina Shivel of Burnside, Thomas Hodge of Waynesburg, Tonya & (Shane) New of Crab Orchard and Heather & (Brian) Angel of Waynesburg, eight grandchildren, Zachary & (Michelle) New, Johnathan New, George Dallas New, Kara New, Danielle New, Latosha Hodge, Ryan Angel and Hallie Shivel and one great-grandchild, Maci New. He is also survived by five siblings, Alta Irene Hodge & (Kelly) of McKinney, Ruby Harrison of Waynesburg, Delbert Eugene Hodge of Waynesburg, Jonas Hodge & (Barb) of Kings Mountain, Joyce Pike & (Joe) of Eubank, one sister-in-law, Aline Faye Pike Hodge of Waynesburg and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James Melvin "Hutton" Hodge and Riley "Buddy" Owen Hodge, two sisters, Mammie Helen and Joann Hodge and two siblings who died in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Melvin Caldwell officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
