Opal Jean Abbott, 86, of Middletown, Ohio, formerly of Somerset, Kentucky, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
She was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on June 11, 1930, daughter of the late Ben and Viola Vaught Hines. She was a homemaker and a member of Campground Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her church family.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Ann & (David) Valandingham and Gwendolyn Smith, both of Middletown, OH and Denise & (James) Hoban of Springfield, OH, one brother, Homer Hines of Lake City, FL, four grandchildren, Jordan Abbott of Edmond, OK, Corey Abbott of Franklin, OH, Amanda Hoban and Andrew Hoban, both of Springfield, OH and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Chester Abbott, whom she married on July 5, 1948 and who died on December 30, 2013, her parents, one son, Stephen Howard Abbott, son-in-law, Ronald Smith and two brothers, Edward Hines and Howard Hines.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Dave Muse officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11 AM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
The family requests donations to Campground Baptist Church Building Fund or a hospice organization of your choice.
