Anna Mae Hood

Anna Mae Hood, 82, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Somerset Nursing & Rehab. She was born in Dabney, Kentucky on June 18, 1934, daughter of the late Oather and Clara Doolin Whitis. She was a sales clerk for Young World and a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She is survived by five children, Sonny & (Wilma) Hood, Pat & (Tom) Estep, Patsy & (Barry) Head, all of Somerset, Peggy & (Steve) Hawkins of Crab Orchard and Penny Hood & (Harold) of Somerset, one brother, Vernon Whitis of Somerset, one sister, Jean Estep of Somerset, five grandchildren, Terry Estep, Cheryl Hood, Allen Hood, Tabitha Cundiff and Corey Hawkins and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Edward Whitis, one grandson, Tony Estep and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Adamson and Bro. Bert Hall officiating. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
