Coy Eugene Back

Coy Eugene Back, age 92, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away June 23, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Eubank, Kentucky on January 17, 1924, son of the late David Harvey and Mary Ann Dixon Back. He was the youngest of 10 children who all preceded him in death, Volina & (John) Culbertson, Clarence Back, Elbert & (Irma) Back, Edgar & (Marie) Back, Earl Back, Virgie Back Worley, Burl & (Virginia) Back and Emil and Troy, who both died in infancy. Coy’s parents moved to Pulaski County from Eastern Kentucky in 1915. He lived at the same farm with the exception of his service in the Army, during WWII. He returned from Okinawa, but lost the feeling in his left hand. He married Juanita Fay Ruckel on September 30, 1948. They were married 67 years before she went to be with our Lord on November 9, 2014. Coy is survived by his three children, William Harold & (Esther) Back, Virgie Faye & (Roy) Barnes, and Barry Eugene Back, four grandchildren, Leah Noel & (Benjamin) Ferro, Ruth Volina & (James Latoff) Back, Royce John Barnes and Richard Roy & (Christina) Barnes, and six great-grandchildren, Benjamin Roy, Gideon David, Levi Coy, Miriam Irene, James Enzo, and baby girl Barnes due January 2017 and a nephew Don & (Joanne) Back. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Morris and Bro. Harold Brown officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or The Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
