Mr. Denver M. Barrett, 83, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born in Manchester, Kentucky on November 5, 1932, son of the late Millard and Laura Combs Barrett. He was a funeral director for Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and a member of First Baptist Church of Somerset. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Young Barrett of Somerset, one son, David & (Paula) Barrett of Alpharetta, GA, one daughter, Marianne & (John) Schroer of Franklin, TN, nine grandchildren, Matt & (Jodi) Schroer, Luke Schroer, Carly Schroer, Amy Barrett, Lake Barrett, Erik Barrett, Rachael Barrett, Sarah Morton and Jake Morton, one great-grandchild, Owen Schroer and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, June 17, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Walter T. Hulett and Chaplain Clarence Floyd officiating.
Visitation will be after 10 AM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #38 and the Patriot Guard Riders.

The family request in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Children's Ministry at First Baptist Church of Somerset or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
