Trudy Sessions Clark, age 92, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa, departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Richmond Place Nursing Facility. Trudy was born on her mother's 31st birthday, September 12, 1923, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, daughter of the late Charles Elbert Sessions and Gertrude P. (Ellis) Sessions. She married Wendell Hamlin in 1950, but in 1958 married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Clark. They were married for almost 53 years before his death in 2011. After her graduation from Abraham Lincoln High School (Council Bluffs) in 1942, she became a Medical Technologist and stayed in that field for 30 years. Until her move to Kentucky in 2008, she was active in her church - West Hills Presbyterian of Omaha, PEO Chapter FK, and the Christian Women's Club. Trudy is survived by daughter, Trudy A. Clevenger (husband Tom) of Columbia, Missouri and son, Charles R. Clark (wife Sue) of Nicholasville, Kentucky; grandchildren Jennifer Stewart (husband Scott), Erin Clevenger, James Watters and Justin Mauro. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Joan Sessions, and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; both of her parents; one sister, Peggy Thurston; and two brothers, Charles Sessions and Donald Sessions. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, April 1, 2016 at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home, 545 Willow Ave., Council Bluffs, Iowa 51503. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Visitation will be after 11:30 AM Friday at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home.
