George Brantley Deaton

George Brantley Deaton, 82, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Whitley City, Kentucky on October 6, 1932, son of the late William B. and Oma Turner Deaton, Sr. He was a lithographer and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl & (Charles) Strong of Colorado Springs, CO, two grandchildren, Adam & (Melissa) Strong and Vicky & (Brian) Laird and four great-grandchildren, Sierra Laird, Tristan Laird, Aspen Laird and Aidan Laird. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Costella Phelps Deaton, whom he married on April 4, 1953 and who died on January 26, 2010, his parents, one brother, William B. Deaton, Jr. and three sisters, Faye Holt, Leona Surber and Almona Chitwood. Visitation will be from 7 PM to 8:30 PM Monday, October 5, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Hughes officiating. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
