Homer Franklin Sims

October 21, 1923 — February 4, 2006

Homer Franklin Sims, son of the late Charles and Laura Belle Gibson Sims, was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on October 21, 1923 and departed this life on February 4, 2006 at the age of 82 years. He was a farmer, an avid hunter and a mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by two sons, Donald & (Kathy) Sims and Gerald & (Vicki) Sims both of Somerset, two daughters, Edna & (Jearl) Bullock of Woodstock and Beverly & (David) McClure of Mt. Vernon, nine grandchildren, Mike & (Lynn) Sims, Kristi & (Brian) Preston, Brian Sims, Scott & (Stephanie) Bullock, Monica & (Jeff) Dillingham, Ashley Sims, Anthony Sims, Shonda & (Wayne) Gross and Rhonda & (Kenneth) Evans and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude E. Whitis Sims, who died on April 1, 1992, his parents and a brother, Roy Sims. A funeral service will be at 2 PM Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Goforth officiating. Burial in Eden Cemetery. Visitation after 6 PM Tuesday. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
