James Edward Nichols, 39, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on December 21, 1974, son of Don Nichols and Kaye Wilson Emerson. He was an inspector for the Kentucky State Highway Department and a member of High Street Baptist Church. He was a member of Sievers Masonic Lodge in Nancy and loved UK basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Phelps Nichols, his father and step mother, Don and Molly Nichols, his mother, Kaye Wilson Emerson, one daughter, Amanda Kaye Nichols, one son, Zachary Edward Nichols, step son, Hayden Bryce Reynolds, one brother, Troy Nichols, one sister, Jennifer & (Timmy) Stocks, step brother, Sammy & (Tammy) Smith, two step sisters, Rhonda Hatfield and Sonya Smith Turner, all of Somerset and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Loveless.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Monday, October 6, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Amundson officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 5 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
