Mary E. Patterson

Mary E. Patterson, 79, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Casey County, Kentucky on December 31, 1933, daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Wesley Lanham. She was a former clerk for Belcher's Grocery and a member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was an amazing Christian example. She is survived by two daughters, Janet & (Donnie) Black and Beverly Stigall, both of Eubank, one brother, Lloyd Lanham of Indiana, one sister, Viola Ottinger of Indiana, two grandchildren, Michelle Chumbley and Joseph Stigall, two great-grandchildren, Jesi and Susie Chumbley and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Patterson, whom she married on February 17, 1951, her parents, five brothers, Ernest Lanham Jr., Ray Lanham, Thomas Lanham, Dale Lanham and Joe Lanham, two sisters, Gertrude Turner and Martha Lanham and son-in-law, Richard Stigall. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 4, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating. Burial will be in Durham Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
