James William Sowder

James William Sowder, 84, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Eubank, Kentucky on January 7, 1929, son of the late Roscoe and Lona Hall Sowder. He was a truck driver and a member of Tabernacle Pentecostal Ministries. He is survived by his wife, Irene Tucker Sowder of Eubank, his children, Charles & (Jenny) Sowder, David & (Susie) Sowder, Johnny & (Lorenda) Sowder, Jimmy (Sheila) Sowder, Dakota Sowder, Ray Bryant, Jina & (Eddie) Sagovia, Ricky Sowder, Heaven Sowder and Patricia Poynter, one brother, Eugene & (Carol) Sowder, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald Ray Sowder and a sister who died in infancy, Juanita Lucille Sowder. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Emmett Lanham and Pastor David Green officiating. Burial will be in Locus Grove Cemetery in Laurel County. Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
