Shirley Marie Dobbs

Shirley Marie Slagle Dobbs, 77, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on August 7, 1935, daughter of the late Dorcey Emil and Martha Jane Saylor Slagle. She was a retired seamstress from Palm Beach. She was former owner and operator of Redwood Restaurant in Lancaster, KY. She is survived by two sons, Willard Brent Dobbs Jr. of Somerset and Tarry Brian Dobbs of Science Hill, two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Stanton of Somerset and Audna Brewer of Leesburg, FL, five grandchildren, Alisha Dobbs, Shawn Dobbs, Crystal Dobbs, Michael Dobbs and Steven Dobbs, three great-grandchildren, Caden Dobbs-Townsend, Halynn Dobbs and Tiara Dobbs and special friends, John Casey, Sue Smith, Gene Hendricks and Lynn Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, Charles Slagle, Lawrence Slagle, Vernon Slagle, Lee Opal Slagle, Haskell Saylor, William "Bill" Slagle, Frank Slage and Jesse Saylor, six sisters, Iva Slagle, Eva Slagle, Vada Slagle Unthank, Reba Saylor Sparks, Edna Stutzman and Elizabeth Jones and one granddaughter, Latasha Michelle Dobbs. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Arthur Slagle officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Shirley Marie Slagle Dobbs will be after 6 PM Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
