Chessie L. Phillips Robertson

Chessie L. Phillips Robertson, 94, of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Somerwoods Nursing & Rehabilitation of Somerset. She was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on Monday, May 21, 1917, daughter of the late Henry and Missouri Pope Phillips. She was a homemaker and attended Waynesburg New Life Church of God of Prophecy and Waynesburg Pentecostal Church. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Chessie was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Robertson, who died on September 29, 1998, her parents, one sister, Bessie Phillips Pennington and nine brothers, Claude Haggy, Clint J., Spencer William, Walter Henry, Eugene, Stewart, Ambros, Dewey H. and Vernon Richard. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, January 20, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Smith officiating. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
