Owen Andrew Duckett

Owen Andrew Duckett, 84, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Edinburgh, Indiana on March 25, 1927, son of the late Riley and Hallie Abbett Duckett. He was in personnel management for Civil Service and a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Trafalgar, IN and attended First Christian Church in Somerset, KY. Mr. Duckett was an accomplished fiddle player and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Mary Donahue Kean Duckett of Franklin, IN, one brother, Maurice Duckett of Columbus, IN and two sisters, Margaret Jane Noblitt of Columbus, IN and Thelma June Stoneburner of San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Earlyne Jean Haugh Duckett, who died on October 7, 1999, his parents and one brother, Cecil Duckett. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin, IN with Bro. Mike Gatton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, IN. Visitation will be after 11 AM Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
