Thelma Cantrell Dick

U.S. Veteran

Thelma Cantrell Dick, 91, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Cumberland Nursing & Rehabilitation.

She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on May 6, 1921, daughter of the late William Patrick and Vesta Alice Stone Cantrell. She was retired from the University of Kentucky as an administrative assistant. She was a housemother and homemaker. She was baptized into the Baptist faith and was a staunch believer in Jesus Christ. Thelma was a World War II Army veteran.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, whom she loved and cherished.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Columbus C. Dick, whom she married on February 13, 1957 and who died on October 14, 2002, her parents, three brothers, Curtis, John Albert and Ernest and two sisters, Mildred Cantrell Sandusky and Mary Cantrell Faust.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.

Visitation will be after 12 Noon Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
